One year after Roy Burns went on his copycat killing spree, Tommy Jarvis tracks down the grave of the real Jason Voorhees in a desperate attempt to ensure that not only is he dead but that Jason’s body has been destroyed. Inadvertently, by stabbing Jason in the chest with an iron rod that then gets struck by lightning, Tommy is the reason that the killer is allowed to come back to life to begin his vengeance anew. Can the newly dubbed town of Forest Green survive the return of Jason Voorhees?

Friday the 13th: The Game is a semi-open world, third-person, survival horror game set in the fictional camp of Crystal Lake in the Friday the 13th franchise. The time period in which the game is set is the mid-1980s in order to better capture the feel of the original films.

The game is an asymmetrical multiplayer video game, with up to eight people able to play in one game. One player controls Jason Voorhees, while the remaining players control camp counselors at Crystal Lake. A player may also control Tommy Jarvis, who becomes playable when certain conditions are met. According to gameplay demos, Jason has heightened hearing and vision, with him being able to teleport anywhere the player wants. The objective of the counselors is to escape from the camp or survive until time runs out on the session, while Jason's objective is to kill all the remaining players. Jason may also be defeated with an "‘epic’ win condition" that requires teamwork, and is difficult to perform.

This tragic event seems to kickstart a rash of violent deaths in the surrounding area but all seem to be focused around the halfway house. Could Jason be back to enact his revenge on poor Tommy Jarvis?

The day after the events of the last installment, Jason’s body is transported to a local morgue. There, he reawakens, kills a doctor and nurse, and escapes back to Crystal Lake. At the same time a group of vacationing friends move into the house next door to the Jarvis family. They all then becomes the focus of Jason’s wrath as he stalks both groups and a lone camper who seems to have his own ulterior motives for his presence at Crystal Lake. Two months after the events of the massacre at Camp Crystal Lake, a mysterious figure has tracked down lone survivor Alice, and brutally kills her in her own home. Fast forward another five years, Paul Holt is starting up a summer camp counselor training center at a campground near Camp Crystal Lake. Acknowledging the camp next door, he scares the counselors around the campfire with stories about Pamela and Jason Voorhees. The same mysterious figure who killed Alice then starts tearing thru the counselors in training. Is it possible that Jason did actually survive drowning in the lake and is now taking out camp counselors because he sees them as the reason that his mother’s dead?

In the year 1957, a young boy attending summer camp at Camp Crystal Lake drowns in the lake while the counselors who were meant to be watching him were preoccupied having sex. The following year, those same counselors were mysteriously murdered during a similar session of promiscuity. The camp then remains closed for 21 years until new owner Steve Christy (son of the original owners) decides it’s time to reopen the camp, ignoring the several failed attempts by his parents. During the first few days of the summer when the newly hired counselors arrive to help clean up and repair the camp, they are dispatched one by one by an unseen killer. Everything seems to be tied back to the unfortunate death of that young boy but why?
