In the year 1957, a young boy attending summer camp at Camp Crystal Lake drowns in the lake while the counselors who were meant to be watching him were preoccupied having sex. The following year, those same counselors were mysteriously murdered during a similar session of promiscuity. The camp then remains closed for 21 years until new owner Steve Christy (son of the original owners) decides it’s time to reopen the camp, ignoring the several failed attempts by his parents. During the first few days of the summer when the newly hired counselors arrive to help clean up and repair the camp, they are dispatched one by one by an unseen killer. Everything seems to be tied back to the unfortunate death of that young boy but why?
