Chris watches Creed and the gang talk about it and their thoughts on the Rocky franchise as a whole. Sam and Jake watch The Good Dinosaur and the gang are split on their reaction to the latest Pixar film. The gang also discusses their initial reactions to the latest trailers for Batman v. Geek Out Commentary: Star Wars - The Clone Wars

Wait, what? As if doing the Star Wars films out of episode or release order wasn't enough, you're going to throw an animated film in the mix? That's right, folks, the animated film that served as a means to introduce the public to the Cartoon Network TV series technically got a wide theatrical release so we're including it with our countdown for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Meant to bridge the gap between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, if this film feels like a bunch of episodes from the show stringed together, it's because it is; The Clone Wars movie was a last minute decision from George Lucas himself so if you're looking for another reason to criticize him, look no further! Listen along as Jake questions everything he loves about Star Wars in face of this flick and see how the boys stack it up to the rest of the series!

Jake is back with his buddy Mike to discuss the first sequel in the Lethal Weapon franchise and the last film in the series that creator Shane Black had any direct involvement with. For many, including Jake, the debate has always been if the sequel trumps its predecessor as the best film in the definitive buddy cop series; listen to what conclusions Jake and Mike reach! Also, listen to hear how Jake and Mike theorize the film was building to what would potentially could have been one of the best cop films of all time!

The gang shares their thoughts on Jessica Jones and how it stacks up against Netflix's other Marvel show Daredevil. Finally, each of the gang struggled with their emotions when it came to Inside Out, The Good Dinosaur, Creed, and the first season of The Flash: Can you guess which Geek Out regular cried watching which program?

Geek Out Commentary: Star Wars Episode II - Attack of the Clones

The countdown to Star Wars: The Force Awakens continues with...Attack of the Clones? Wait, where's Return of the Jedi? Like we said in our first week of Star Wars commentaries, we're doing this countdown in Machete Order so that means we get a flashback interlude to descent of Anakin Skywalker after The Empire Strikes Back's iconic plot twist! Attack of the Clones...it isn't regarded as one of the best Star Wars films, to put it politely, but it's generally regarded as a significant improvement over its predecessor and it's Josh's favorite Star Wars prequel...but how does the rest of the gang feel about it? Watch along and listen to find out!

A new Geek Out miniseries! Josh is a huge fan of Resident Evil, both the landmark Capcom video game franchise and the film series, and will be revisiting each of the movies as he explains his love of the cinematic adaptation of the classic survival horror games. This week, he's with fellow Geek Out co-host Chris and the two revisit the original Resident Evil film from 2002! Video game movies had developed a bit of bad rap (And, honestly, still have it) so nobody expected the runaway success of Paul WS Anderson's return to form with this series. If you're a fan of either the films or video games, take a listen!

The Geek Out Gang is back this week with another Image Comics interview, this time with writer Alex de Campi! Alex talks about her latest creator-owned book, No Mercy, how 70s cinema influences the stark reality of the story's content and how manga influences some of narrative pacing of the Image Comics title. Also, Alex talks how respecting genres while blending them is particularly important in the case of writing Archie vs. Predator. Finally, the boys talk about what they're thankful for and tease a larger discussion about the Netflix series Jessica Jones in the very near future...

The second arc of No Mercy starts with issue #5 on Wednesday, December 9 available in comic shops everywhere and on Comixology!

Geek Out Commentary: The Empire Strikes Back

The countdown to Star Wars: The Force Awakens continues! Critically derided upon its initial release, The Empire Strikes Back has gone on to become universally acclaimed as the best in the Star Wars series and one of the greatest films of all time...but do all the Geek Out Boys feel that way? Listen to hear what was added to the Special Edition of the film (Hint: Not as much as you'd think)! Learn the secret, dark history of Dagobah and the cave that Luke Skywalker must face! And learn more about what didn't actually make the final cut of the film! Darth Vader's mission to destroy the Rebel Alliance just got a lot more personal...

Geek Out Commentary: Star Wars

With the first live action Star Wars film in 10 years coming out next month and given how big Star Wars fans we are, was there any doubt we'd be doing a commentary series for the iconic science fiction franchise? In preparation for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we're doing commentaries for all the theatrically released (Sorry no holiday special or Ewok films, those were all for TV) Star Wars films in Machete order! Up first, the film that started it all and launched a global phenomena, it's Star Wars (Remember, it wasn't released as A New Hope until years later!)! Get psyched!
