An attempt to return the band to its hard rock roots after the disastrous reception to their previous album, Music from "The Elder", Creatures of the Night marked the arrival of new lead guitarist Vinnie Vincent and the departure of original lead guitarist Ace Frehley (Who still gets credited on the album). What starts as a discussion about the alien invasion series becomes a full-on conversation about James' entire career in comics from his other Image work with Airboy to recent work at Marvel with Scarlet Witch and the Fantastic Four to exploring Two-Face and restarting the JSA at DC.
